Stamping Smiles Design Challenge #12

Hello everyone!! I hope you are having a fabulous Thursday.

June is flying by too fast. So far my vacation has been filled with doctor's appointments and getting things cleaned that I haven't been able to get clean while I am working. (Like washing curtains or cleaning out whole closets. Who likes to do that?)

There is a new challenge over at Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog. Challenge #12 is up. Can you believe we are already at 12?

For my card, I used the last row down-Bird/Bees/Butterflies, Tag and Metals.

Here is the card I came up with:

I chose to use a Lemon Chiffon card base and rounded the bottom edge. I stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink's "Bitty Butterflies" stamp set in Aqua Mist dye ink. I then layered a yellow polka dot paper that I stenciled and die cut over the background.

I used a pre-made tag from We R Memory Keepers "Crush" collection and added a metal brad in the middle of the gold flower. I then adhered a vellum butterfly that I die cut using a My Favorite Things die "Flutter of Butterflies Lace " die over the tag.

To finish the card off, I added the gold gems in the middle of the butterfly.

This card came together so easily by just using one pre-made elements. I have so many lying around due to my scrapbooking that I have never used. Incorporating them onto cards is my new favorite thing!!

Please stop on over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog and play with us using Challenge #12. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #11

It is finally JUNE!!! I am so happy!! I have nine more days of work and then I will be on vacation for the summer and am SO EXCITED!!

Know what else I am excited for? To show you the card that I created for Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #11.

I chose to use the last row across for my card-inlaid design, mono-chromatic and scalloped border.

I started off my card by going through my scraps and die cutting butterflies using PaperTrey Ink's "Bitty Butterflies" Cover Plate out of various pink scraps to use for my "monochromatic" color scheme. I then stamped a sentiment using the matching "Bitty Butterflies" stamps in persimmon ink on a "Sweet Blush" card stock panel.

I layered the panel over a white card base and then did a combination of "inlaying" the die cut butterflies into the panel and popping them out of the card front using foam adhesive.

To emphasize the greeting, I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut a "scalloped" border to adhere below the sentiment.

My last step was to adhere a few pink sequins over a few of the butterflies.

I plan on giving this to my cousin for her wedding shower in June. It goes perfectly with her invitations!!

I thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to hop over to Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Blog to see what the other members of the design team created!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Stamping Smiles Design Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #9

Hello everyone!! Happy May day!! I cannot BELIEVE it is May already.

I am so ready for the nice weather and the chance to get out into the garden and plant some flowers, as well as my veggies. Here in the northeast this can get tricky as we often get a late frost. I am itching to plant my flowers because I want to give my front yard a little color. It really needs it.

Today I am posting a card I created for Stamping Smiles Designs Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #9.

I used the first row down-flowers, birthday and masking technique. I have quite a few birthdays this month and this badge gave me the excuse to create one.

I started off by masking CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Pretty Posies" set in Amethyst, Lilac and Green dye ink. Originally I was going to mask whole card front but as my usual messy self, I left a HUGE green thumb print in the middle of the card and had to improvise. Instead of chucking out the whole thing, I decided to use what I could.

I cut a piece of the masked flower panel off and adhered it with foam adhesive over a green card base and a white doily.

I embossed a sentiment  in green over a piece of dark purple card stock and adhered that over the edge of the stamped panel. The last step was to adhere some clear sequins randomly around the front.

For messing something up, this came together quite nicely!! I actually have enough of the botched panel left to make at least one more card for my stash!!
