CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "Bomb Diggity" Sneak Peek

Hello, hello!!

I am popping in today to give you another sneak peek to a new CAS-ual Fridays Stamps stamp set. The Ink Squad and I are using the new set "Bomb Diggity" to make some fun projects that will be available October 21, 2017 in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store!

I created a simple card using the "You are Fabulous" sentiments from the set and mixed them with color burst pigment for a simple card.

I started off by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment from "Bomb Diggity" onto an A2 sized white piece of card stock, using white embossing powder.

I then misted the panel with water and added some color burst pigment in ultramarine blue and lime green, misting and adding more powder until I got the look I wanted.

I blotted off some of the water and then used a heat gun to dry it.

Next I cut the decorated panel into a 4" by 5 1/4" piece and adhered it to a top folding, white, A2 sized card base. I then added sequins and little gems in the background colors around the sentiment for more focus.

Want to see some more fun projects with this set? Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. Don't forget to comment on the company blog by Saturday, October 21st to be entered into a drawing for a random chance to win a gift certificate at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Store.

Vacation and a Card for a Past Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!! Today is kind of a dreary day here but the weather is not hot or humid so I will take it!!!

Today I am posting a few things. First, a card I created for "Freshly Made Sketches #298." I was hoping to have time to post it before we went on vacation last week but never got the chance to edit it.

I used PaperTrey Ink's "Butterfly Hope" stamp set which has sat in my NBUS pile for a long time. I needed to send some encouragement cards and this set was perfect. I also created a matching envelope while I had everything out.

Here is the sketch:

I used Altenew Dye ink cubes and  Memento Ink in "Tuxedo Black" to stamp my images.

I didn't have a piece of blue paper to match the blue in the butterfly so I did some ink blending on a piece of white card stock, stamped the sentiment in black and die cut it using a My Favorite Things "Pierced Square Stax" die.

To finish off the outside of my card, I added some sequins and black jewels randomly around the card.

I also stamped the inside of the card with a matching butterfly.

Just an FYI, the white panel looks wonky in this photo. I had not stuck it down inside the card yet and it drifted a bit to the right.

This ends the post part with the card. Now onto vacation photos!!

Last week we went rented a house in Rhode Island. My father and stepmother stayed with us and my sister and family rented a different house a couple streets away. Charlotte had a BLAST seeing her cousins every day.

The weather was PERFECT the whole week and the water was not as cold as I thought it would be. The first night I was able to take a few photos of the sunset as we walked along the beach after dinner.

Unfortunately that was the only night I was able to take as we were either eating or making dinner at that time all the other nights. I also did not get up for a sunrise either. Our house was on the main drag and every night people were loudly walking home from the bars at closing time. I am a light sleeper so that was not fun for me. Wound up sleeping in way too much!!

The last day we had a little photo shoot with the family.

This is my father, my stepmother, Charlotte and three of her cousins that were there.

This is me with my father and sister, Jen.

My sister was even able to get a half way decent photo of the three of us. Why I wore those darn sneakers, though, is beyond me!!

Well that is all for today. I appreciate you stopping by!!

"Sassy Smiles" with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Today it is my turn for some inspiration for the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog.

I combined the "Sassy Smiles" stamp set with one of my FAVORITE Fri-Dies-"Linked" (now on the retirement list!!) for a super easy card.

My first step for this card was to use the "Linked Fri-Dies" to die cut the border. I then blended "Wilted Violet" Distress Ink in different shades across the border.

I took the remaining part of the white card base and did the smooshing technique with the same color ink. I set the card front aside to dry.

While the card front was drying, I used the "Smiling Fri-Dies" to die cut the smile sentiment out of a scrap of purple paper three times. I then glued these three layers together.

Once the card front was dry, I adhered the card front together with the border, using a scrap of acetate as a base.

I did a bit of masking and stamped "it's the one thing that always fits" from "Sassy Smiles" with black dye ink above the purple border. I then adhered the the die cut "smile" above the stamping.

I added some clear sequins around the sentiment and topped them off with silver Stickles. The last step was to apply Glossy Accents to the die cut word and border. I wish you could see this in real life because it is a cool effect.

Have you seen the sale that is going on at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps?

Michele is cleaning out the old to get ready for the new sets and the prices on the retiring products are out of this world!! You can even use my code-nora2017-to get an EXTRA 15% off these fabulous prices!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #227

Happy Tuesday!! Busy day here. Had to go to the dentist today to get measured for a retainer. Who knew at 48 that my teeth would start moving and I would need worry about my teeth shifting back to a pre-braces spot. I feel like a teen again!!

I also had to bring Zack to the vet. He has not been himself as of late. We are no sooner outside on a walk when he starts panting and cannot keep up with us. (He has been trained to walk by our right side.) Zack also limps a little when he gets up.

He is at least 9 (not totally sure because he is a rescue dog) and I know things do get slower with age. I just don't like to see him like this. They gave him some antibiotics and hopefully these will help make him feel better.

Enough about life!!

Today I am sharing a card I created for CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #227. This came together quick because most of the supplies were right on my desk.

I started off by covering a white, A2, top folding card with a scrap of patterned paper. I then layered a rectangle I had embossed over the front, as per the sketch below.

Next I die cut three frames out of white card stock using My Favorite Things "Pierced Rectangle" frames dies. I adhered them together and placed them over the top of the embossed paper.

I then stamped a sentiment from My Favorite Things "Geometric Greenery" onto a white banner that I had die cut using MFTs "Fishtail Flags Frames" Die-namics. I added it to the card front using foam adhesive.

I adhered a white Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Tags" die cut that was on my desk over the flag and covered that with a Memory Box's "Rhone Butterfly Wings" that I had die cut for a previous project and never used.

To finish off the card, I covered the body and the wings of the butterfly with "Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Marker." I thought that the body melted in to the butterfly a bit too much so I then covered it with Diamond” Stickles.

That is all from me today. I thank you for taking the time to stop by. Have a FABULOUS day!!

Busy Weekend and a Inspired by the Little Things #62

Happy Sunday!! This weekend was pretty busy with family. My nephew had a high school graduation party on Saturday and today we went to a memorial mass for my step-grandmother, and then out to breakfast with my sister's family. Now I need a nap!!

Today I am playing with Inspired by the Little Things Challenge #62. They are taking a break for the summer so I wanted to make sure that I did this challenge. I took the inspiration photo kind of literally.

Can you tell what I was inspired by now looking at the image?

I used Pretty Pink Posh's Rainy Days” and Rainy Days Additions” stamp sets for my card. There is a ton of masking that I could not have done without my MISTI tool.

I chose to use the houndstooth umbrella because it is one of my FAVORITE patterns. Who doesn't like a nice houndstooth scarf or pair of pants? They are a classic. With a little color-WOW!! (You might not think so but I do!!)

I then die cut the panel using My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprints #27 and mounted it on some MFT “Lemon Drop” Card Stock, using fun foam. I completed the card by adhering some clear sequins in various sizes and added a dot of Diamond” Stickles for some added shine.

Well that is all from me. Have a fabulous night!!

Inspiration With CAS-ual Fridays Stamps "I Believe in You"

Happy Hump Day!! I hope you are having a FABULOUS week!!

Today it is my turn over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Blog. I created a card using the "Love Notes" and "Calm and Loving" stamp set.

I started off by stamping and embossing the music from the "Love Notes" set in gold onto a white card base. I then adhered it to an A2, Kraft card base.

Next I used the heart circle from the "Calm and Loving" set and heat embossed that in gold on a watercolored red paper. I die cut it out and punched a heart out of the middle. I adhered the heart onto a white base circle and then used foam adhesive to pop the negative part over it.

I then heat embossed a sentiment from "Calm and Loving" onto a black card stock strip and adhered it over the circle. My last step was to die cut some hearts from gold paper using the "Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies" and adhering them onto the card front.

Simple and easy-something I rarely do!!
